Connect Instagram
Answer Instagram DMs, comments and story replies — no Facebook Page needed.
Instagram connects on its own here. You do not need a Facebook Page linked to it, which is the step most people get stuck on elsewhere.
Two things have to be true of the account: it must be a professional account (Business or Creator, both fine), and it must allow message access from tools. Both live in the Instagram app.
Before you start
- In the Instagram app, open Settings and check that your account is Business or Creator. If it's personal, switch it — it's free and nothing about your posts changes.
- In Settings → Messages, turn on the option that allows access to messages.
Steps
- Open your workspace and go to Channels.
- Press Connect next to Instagram.
- Sign in with the Instagram account itself.
- Leave every permission ticked and continue.
- You come back to Channels and Instagram shows as connected.
What it can answer
Direct messages, comments on your posts, mentions, and replies to your stories. A story reply arrives as text about a picture only the customer can see — the assistant is shown that story, so it answers about the right thing.
Instagram only lets a business reply within 24 hours of the customer's last message. After that the assistant stays quiet rather than sending something Instagram would reject.
